Site Operations Manager - County Cavan.
In this role the successful candidate will need a strong technical background in food canning and cooking processes, ideally with a technical qualification and relevant experience in this area, in addition to operational management skills and capabilities.
Reporting to the Group Operations Manager this position's primary responsibilities include the daily management and control of plant operations including production, quality, yields, wastage, unit costs and maintenance while ensuring compliance with all quality, labour, safety, environmental and corporate policies and regulations. The position will also contribute to the development and implementation of organisational strategies, policies and practices.
Main Responsibility and accountabilities.
Lead, plan, direct, and co-ordinate plant operations and plant personnel in the day to day activities to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of productivity targets in compliance with applicable customer, legislative and insurance requirements.
Liaising with Group Sales and Planning to develop a robust production planning and storage model for all production
Manager customer relationships relating to service, delivery and quality, in conjunction with the sales team.
Manage and support New Product Development initiatives.
Manage quality, utilising site resources, liaising with Group Technical division as required.
Monitor and measure production KPI’s on a daily basis to achieve lowest cost and margin delivery.
Prepare and manage annual budget requirements to measure productivity and goal achievement to determine areas needing cost reduction and program/capital expenditure improvements, while achieving budget targets for wages, overheads, and energy and downtime costs.
Lead, manage and provide support to all site production lines in achieving the highest possible levels of safety, quality, productivity, customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
Ensure full preventative maintenance and repairs program is implemented for all processing machines/equipment to minimize overall productivity downtime.
Achieve plant production yields and quality goals,
Determine staffing and training requirements in line with the company’s overall HR and productivity standards in conjunction with the Group Industrial engineer. Develop and maintain headcount plans.
Ensure that all customer requirements are processed correctly, cost effectively and delivered on time in accordance with customer specifications and Regulatory quality requirements
Communicating with all Supervisors and Department and co-ordinating all relevant inputs (people, plant and processes) to ensure production output and on time delivery targets are achieved.
Ensuring that the production floor has the necessary manpower, competence, skill, knowledge, plant and equipment required in order to achieve production targets.
Performance Management & Annual Appraisals of direct reports including the monitoring, reviewing and addressing of reports, under-performance and maintenance of appropriate records in accordance with company procedures.
Enforce the Company's safety, quality and environmental policies within the plant and promote & maintain awareness and compliance of H&S in accordance with best practice and legal requirements.
Develop a safety first culture holding reports accountable for proper execution of their safety responsibilities.
Provide daily , weekly and monthly reporting requirements including labour efficiency and standards

Promote positive employee relations through effective conflict management and issue resolution and conduct regular management meetings which include effective communication of organisational and policy changes.
With HR develop and manage training plan for employees
Drive Continuous Improvement and total employee involvement in critical success areas by utilising Lean Manufacturing Tools and Techniques
Etablish goals and objectives for self and team and implement accordingly to help support / improve job performance.
Develop & implement operational improvements
Ensure non-value added activity is reduced in all manufacturing processes by using Lean tools and techniques.
Manage change to meet current business requirements.
Implement manufacturing improvement processes and systems to reduce inventory, increase throughput and minimise costs.
Work as part for the wider factory operations team to share best practice and support group initiatives.
