This excellent opportunity provides services which are at the forefront of treatment for heart attacks and heart disease for the people of this area, working in the Cardiac Angio department, with acute care experience in the UK, the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and develop new skills in the area of interventional cardiology.
Responsibilities:
*To provide the highest standard of assessment, planning,
*implementation and evaluation of individualised, holistic
*Patient care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
*Is able to carry out all relevant forms of care and in the absence of the Sister may be delegated the running of the ward/department, or part of the ward/department on a regular basis.
*Takes responsibility for the organisation of the department, on a day-to-day basis, demonstrating advanced, specialist skills, experience and knowledge in clinical practice.
*Ensures smooth running of the daily workload, co-ordinating with other members of the multi-disciplinary team to achieve and maintain seamless care with maximum efficiency without compromise to patient care, and minimise 'turn over' times between cases.
*Acts as a scrub assistant in the angio department following a period of orientation and training
*Perform on-call duties and acts as a supervisor for on-call duties
*Promote the importance of Health education to staff, patients and their carers. Ensure materials are available to increase public awareness of health issues. Identify individual risk factors with the patient, so that an informed choice can be made.
*Liaise with relatives, multidisciplinary team within other hospitals / health care settings to facilitate the smooth transfer of patients to the Tertiary centre.
*Participate in the provision of the pre-assessment service for angio day case patients following a period of training.
