JOB PURPOSE:
A Senior Developer / Analyst is required for development and analysis within our Liquidity & Risk Technology Department. The role would be suitable for a career minded individual interested in working in a dynamic fast paced environment. Good communication skills are essential as the role will involve exposure to a variety of Investment Banking business areas.
DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:
The department is responsible for the development and maintenance of new and existing systems which are used by Credit & Finance Users. Applications are developed and maintained in the Dublin and New York Offices with users based in Global Offices of our client.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strong Communications Skills, written and oral
Liaise with business users to define and document requirements.
Work with users and technology team members to identify solutions
Plan development activities to implement solutions
Write technical specifications, User and other documentation
Strong Development Skills
Deliver software components to specification and time as directed by manager.
Hands on Java, SQL / Database skills required
Experience in performance optimization
Ability to work independently and on Global Team projects
Ensures products integrate into the business environment by working with operations, infrastructure, logistics, and key client personnel.
Support Global users of applications in Credit Risk Front & Middle office functions.
Work on cross dept projects in the development of new banking systems.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Degree/Masters in a Technology related subject.
- 3+ years post qualification technical work experience
- Experience supporting end users and analysing issues.
- Detailed Knowledge & Experience of Relational Databases (Sybase)
- Mandatory Technical Skills: Strong Java (mostly large database processing, some UI); Strong Sybase & Database modelling & Design; XML transforms, Messaging (MQ, EMS); Unix / Linux Shell Programming
- Desirable to have Additional technology exposure to: C++; .Net; Web Logic; SQL Server
- Desirable to have a degree/masters with a Business/Finance component.
- Experience in Banking/ Finance businesses and a keen interest in this area.
- Self starter with positive attitude
