The Role
Projects Equipment Engineer (3-6 months contract)
Job Purpose:
As a member of the Project/Engineering Department the project engineer will be responsible for implementing various projects as determined by the Engineering Manager. The Project Engineer needs to be able to take a project from inception through to completion. The successful candidate needs to ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner and that all relevant standards are adhered to. If required, he/she will need to liase with outside Regulatory bodies and Equipment Manufacturers.
Main responsibilities for this position will include:
Design and development of equipment to match the packing / filling requirements demanded by new products & systems Technical and Financial Management of all projects within the Engineering Department including the assessment of resource requirement. Continuous improvement on performance & reliability on existing equipments, through innovative design improvements. To validate & commission new equipment liasing with other departments & functions forming a multidisciplinary team to successfully introduce into production. To support the introduction of new packaging components assembly, filling & labelling thereof into the market. To ensure compliance to all regulatory standards & directives. Maintain a vigorous approach to identifying areas where new emerging technologies can be used to improve productivity, efficiency, reliability & quality Reporting of KPI's to Management. Adhoc duties/Projects as directed by the Engineering Manager.
The successful candidate
Should hold an Engineering Degree, preferably Mechanical (2.1)
At least five years engineering experience in a Bottling and Filling operation. Experience in PLC programming is essential. Experience in OEE monitoring is essential Experience in lean Engineering Philosophies e.g Six Sigma Excellent interpersonal and Project Management Skills and possess the ability to lead teams . Some experience with process moulding -blow moulding and injection moulding . A thorough understanding of equipment design, particularly in the area of packaging, component assembly & filling. Broad knowledge of technical aspects of various projects from inception to completion. Proven Track record dedication to quality and meeting strict deadlines
