WE ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR A REGISTERED NURSE - MENTAL HEALTH FOR OUR CLIENT IN AUSTRALIA.

VISAS ORGANISED FOR CANDIDATES - FULLY SPONSORED

To be considered for this position, candidates must have equivalent registration in UK/ Ireland, Canada or USA. They are required to have minimum 5 years experience working in a Mental Health facility.

They will be responsible for providing a high standard of mental health care to patients of varying ages and cultural groups within the hospital / facility.

Required Experience:
· Registered with the Nurses Board relevant to the state of employment
· Current practicing certificate
Desirable Experience:
· Bachelor of Science (Nursing)
· Post graduate qualification in relevant field of specialty
· 12 months experience in an accredited post-graduate nursing program.

The role:
· Provide nursing care in accordance with legislation and common law governing nursing practice
· Work within own scope of practice

· Adhere to the legal requirement of medication administration
· Respect the rights of individuals, their beliefs, cultural values and dignity
· Provide supervision and guidance to Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing, Graduates and Students
· Question and /or clarify nursing interventions which appear inappropriate with relevant members of the health care team.
· Discuss with team leader nursing skill mix requirements, relevant clinical issues and communicates
· Undertake nursing interventions founded on evidence –based practice
· Participate in research
· Provide teaching, guidance and support to junior staff and undertakes precetorship and mentoring roles
· Participate in case reviews and clinical audits
· Proactively assess nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the individual / patient
· Demonstrate awareness of cost containment by utilizing resources efficiently.
· Act as an advocate to assist individuals to make informed decisions.
· Ensure patient confidentiality and privacy is maintained .
· Assist medical and allied health teams in monitoring patient outcomes.
· Provide ‘hands-on’ nursing care
· Perform nursing care interventions based on evidence-based practice
· Undertake assessments using a range of assessment tools (i.e. observation, interview, physical examination)
· Plan nursing care based on assessment findings, with individual / patients input, identifies priorities and evaluates against established goals. Redirects plan as required
· Document into the patients medical record objectively, clearly, concisely and timely using accepted abbreviations and terminology
· Identify goals that are measurable, achievable and congruent with the values and believes of the individual /patient
· Proactively work towards discharge planning, ensuring appropriate referrals for support post discharge to external agencies are in place and meet the requirements of the individual / patient
· Undertake nursing procedures timely, efficiently and confidently.
· Respond effectively to emergency situations and the changing status of the individual / patient
· Delegate aspects of care to EN’s and AIN’s according to their skill level and competence
· Discharge individuals /patient timely
· Encourage the patient, relatives and significant others to participate in the continuing care of the patient.
· Act as an advocate to assist individuals to make informed decisions.
· Ensure patient confidentiality and privacy is maintained.
· Assist medical and allied health teams in monitoring patient outcomes .
· Promote teamwork.
· Act as a resource person for those staff less experienced.
