Job Title: Mechanical Engineer This position requires the use of mechanical engineering skills to deliver technical improvements of R&D and GBO&PE development and CIP projects. The successful candidate needs to develop process improvements that can be transferred and scaled-up in manufacturing.

Key function of the role

· Key output is new and improved test rigs and manufacturing processes.
· Ensure all the clients safety and ethical standards are maintained at all times.
· Ensure all development projects are manufactured to all current GMP's and Bausch & Lomb policies and procedures.
· When staff are employed on manufacturing sites, ensure that all manufacturing current GMP's are complied with.
· Ensure all equipment designs and optimisation comply with EHS standards.

Qualifications / Skills

· Qualified Engineer - Science or Engineering.
· Previous experience of working in a regulated Medical Device or Pharma Industry desirable.
· Good communication skills with the ability to work successfully in a team environment, interfacing with senior management.
· Competent understand of statistics (Six Sigma qualification or equivalent recommended)
