Job Description

As VP Software Engineering, you will recruit and lead a top-notch team of engineers creating and enhancing world-leading products for the transportation industry. Your team will design features and products, develop specialized hardware and software, create and develop client- and server-side software for my client's products, with a focus on improving efficiency in passenger transport.

This position will be located in Kinsale, Cork. In addition to managing a team of software professionals, the successful candidate will work closely with other software development teams located in China and the United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and manage a strong, highly motivated, productive software engineering team.
  • Lead software development projects, including integrating with custom hardware.
  • Manage international engineering groups


Required Qualifications:


  • Must have worked as a VP Engineering / Software Development Manager in a Product Company before (critical)
  • Must have come up the ranks from a software development background.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills required for working with the core
    development team with offices in China, California, and Washington DC.
  • Industry experience delivering multiple web sites and/or mobile applications.
  • Software development experience in Java, C/C++, and web environment.
  • 10+ Years of experience developing and/or managing software projects.
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Transportation engineering or GIS domain experience is a plus.
  • Excellent negotiation and consensus building abilities, excellent team development
    capabilities required in supporting junior, mid, and senior level developers and managers.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Formal training in software engineering or project management.
  • Experience in developing APIs.
  • Experience working in a rapid growth company in brand new technology market.
