The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a well known, national voluntary organisation working with people throughout Ireland who experience poverty and disadvantage. Through its network of over 9,000 volunteers and 500 staff, it is committed to offering support and friendship, promoting self-sufficiency and working for social justice. We are now seeking applications for the following position.
Head of Service Development
Ref: NO210
This is a new role in our National Office and will report to the National Director. The Head of Service Development will be expected to foster, encourage, develop and expand the range of services offered throughout the Society with particular relevance to the changing needs of society.
The successful applicant will possess the following:
- At least 8 years experience at a senior level in an organisation or organisations, with an element of complexity, providing social care services.
- Well proven experience with strategic planning and change management.
- Experience of complex case management and supervision.
- Knowledge of inter-disciplinary and inter-agency working at an operational and strategic level.
- Well proven experience in researching, analysing, developing policy papers and gaining support for a particular course of action.
- Outstanding communications skills, both written and verbal, in individual and group situations.
- Experience of successful development, management, implementation and evaluation of complex project plans.
The post is located in our National Office in Dublin, however, the job holder will be expected to be available to travel extensively within Ireland and be available for some evening and weekend work.
