Rainmaker has successfully entered into long term contracts with leading airlines in Europe and the US to design, build, deliver and support applications that give airline managers access to critical hidden data across multiple data sources within their current environment. To underpin its international sales, Rainmaker has a re-seller agreement with the US global company, Sabre Airline Solutions to promote the Rainmaker suite of products to its expansive airline customer base worldwide.

We are currently seeking to recruit a skilled Microsoft Business Intelligence Developer with strong OLAP, ETL and multi-dimensional design and implementation skills for a permanent position based at our offices in Sandymount Dublin.

The successful candidate will be a developer with extensive experience in the planning, design and implementation of enterprise class business intelligence solutions using Microsoft BI platform combined with advanced knowledge of SQL Server 2005/2008.

Key Responsibilities:

Design , development and deployment of BI solutions on the Microsoft Business Intelligence platform.

Interact directly with customers and internal users to obtain and document reporting requirements.

Develop key aspects of the information architecture, including logical/​physical data models, data flow diagrams and metadata strategy.

Work with internal development teams and provide feedback and analysis on database performance and best practices.

Skills / Experience

Third level Degree in Software Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

Minimum 5+ years post qualification experience in a software/database development role with proven experience of all aspects of the development life cycle on enterprise scale systems.

Minimum 2 years experience in the design and development of commercial Data Warehousing and BI solutions using SQL Server 2005/2008.

Extensive experience in MS SQL Server 2005/2008 and BI Stack : Analysis Services (MDX, Cube Design), Integration Services and Reporting services

Solid understanding of database design theory (logical and physical).

Solid understanding of data warehouse design and theory (logical and physical).

Solid understanding of ETL design and theory.

Experience with a broad range of databases (SQL Server, Oracle, ..), including data structures, indexing, and scripting languages

Expertise in OLAP, ETL tools, logical & physical design, and query optimization.

Development experience with .Net C# 2.0 or C# 3.5.

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, ability to understand complex problems and to generate appropriate technical solutions.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).

Exposure to Agile Development Methodologies.
