As one of Ireland's leading Insurance companies, my client has seen substantial growth within their personal and commercial lines business over the last number of years. With their aim now being the further development of their market share within the insurance industry, they are now recruiting for Commercial Motor, Property and Liability Underwriters who will be responsible for providing superior levels of underwriting service to their broker panels.
To be successful in this position, you will need –
- Previous exposure of at least 2 years in general and / or commercial insurance underwriting, specializing in property, casualty and reinsurance policies
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting and acceptance criteria
- An ability to achieve agreed business targets and service standards within a professional manner
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Progression towards insurance qualification an advantage - ACII
On successful hire you will –
- Be responsible for underwriting of your own commercial portfolio of property and casualty reinsurance policies
- Liaise with designated broker panels and service their commercial book of business
- Be involved in training junior members of staff in underwriting acceptance criteria, pricing and covers
- Work to monthly and quarterly targets while proving superior customer service
