MY CLIENT, A WELL ESTABLISHED MARINE RENEWABLE ENERGY COMPANY, IS CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED C&I ENGINEER TO JOIN THEIR GLASGOW BASED TEAM. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN A GROWING COMPANY WHO ARE WORKING WITH A PROVEN TECHNOLOGY.
The C&I ENGINEER will be part of our multi disciplinary design team based in Glasgow, responsible for the DESIGN DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT , and will be required to undertake the following tasks:
• REVIEW, ASSESS AND INTERROGATE CONCEPTUAL AND DETAILED DESIGNS UNDERTAKEN BY EXTERNAL CONSULTANTS/CONTRACTORS to ensure the integrity of the design solutions proposed with respect to condition monitoring and control systems, instrumentation components, and sub-systems.
• REVIEW DESIGN CALCULATIONS and supporting documentation submitted by consultants/design contractors;
• EVALUATE AND DEVELOP SCADA SYSTEMS for remote monitoring and operation of the plant;
• REVIEW BRITISH AND INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS as applied to the design & manufacture of all C&I components and equipment and critical systems;
• Interface with and MANAGE THE EXTERNAL SOFTWARE DEVELOPER ;
• PREPARE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTATION for C&I fabrication, manufacture or component procurement;
• ESTABLISH C&I TESTING & COMMISSIONING REQUIREMENTS and prepare specifications;
• SUPERVISE EXTERNAL CONTRACTORS undertaking fabrication, manufacturing, assembly and plant testing contracts;
The suitable C&I Engineer will have EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN BOTH DESIGN AND PROJECT DELIVERY , specifically in relation to:
• C&I DESIGN AND OPERATION IN A SUBSEA ENVIRONMENT ;
• C&I components and their SURVIVABILITY IN AN AGGRESSIVE ENVIRONMENT ;
• Renewable technologies and projects;
• SCADA AND REMOTE MONITORING & CONTROL SYSTEMS ;
The C&I engineer will be qualified to DEGREE STANDARD (OR EQUIVALENT) AND BE A CHARTERED C&I ENGINEER (or have sufficient qualifications/experience to meet that requirement)
