Job/Department Summary:
We are looking for a senior Java/JavaScript developer with strong front end development experience and database skills to work on a number of Global Credit Risk projects. The successful candidate should have advanced Java (strong GUI development experience in Java/JSP) and database skills (ideally in Sybase/SQL Server) and be a self starter with a positive attitude and strong communication skills.
This is an exciting role in a dynamic global financial services organisation offering plenty of scope for future development and career progression. This role is well suited to a strong developer with a keen interest in investment banking. The successful candidate will be working on a number of high profile projects in a rapidly expanding technology team in the RDI Centre. The developer will have an opportunity to work on new and existing systems used globally by Credit Risk and will involve working with teams in the US, India and the UK.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Strong GUI development experience in Java/JavaScript/JSP/Struts
- Detailed knowledge & experience of Relational Databases (SQL Server)
- Development experience in a JavaScript framework
Desirable Technical Skills: - Desirable to have Linux/Unix server side experience. Shell scripting, Unix commands, etc
- Desirable to have AJAX (prototype or dojo) experience
Key Responsibilities: - Work closely with business users and technology team members to identify solutions to business requirements
- Deliver software components to specification and time as directed by manager
- Support global users of applications
- Develop and execute rollout plans
Skills / Experience Required: - Third level degree
- Experience interacting with business users
- Experience in Banking/Finance businesses a plus
