EH&S Specialist
Our client is currently talking applications for a EHS Engineer. This is a full time permanent role based in Dublin.
Key Responsibilities:
- Keep abreast of all relevant Safety and Environmental legislation, both locally, nationally and within the EU.
- Align the H&S management system to ISO 18001
- Maintain and develop the site Safety Report
- Coordinate the site HAZOP Programme
- Conduct internal EHS audits according to schedule.
- Implement relevant Corporate EHS Standards
- Review and revise EHS SOPs and forms.
- Co-ordinate accident and incident investigations.
- Review and approve accident, incident investigations. Co-ordinate root cause analysis (RCA) where required.
- Design and deliver EHS training programmes.
- Monitor and review the site permit (to work) system.
- Assist the EHS manager with the site Occupational Hygiene Programme.
- Assist with the co-ordination and delivery of EHS promotional activities.
- Assist the EHS manager with the compilation of the site AER and quarterly EPA reports.
- Deputise for EHS Manager when required.
Background and Requirements:
- Degree in Chemistry / Engineering/ Applied Science
- Secondary qualification in EHS highly desirable.
- 5 – 7 years in a relevant industrial experience in a SEVESO II site – this is an absolute must. Experience in an Upper Tier Site a distinct advantage.
- Knowledge of chemical processing equipment is essential.
- Strong analytical and evolutive engineering skills.
- Creative in developing new EHS programmes and solutions.
- Highly organised and capable of working on own initiative.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and interact across all levels within the organisation.
- Confidentiality and professionalism in approach to the role and perception by site.
