- Packaging Engineer - Limerick
Our client is one of the leading multinational companies they currently have a requirement for a Packaging Engineer based in the Mid West Region.
Responsibilities
- Provide design, technical and operational support to packaging function.
- Support the Product Innovations Team on various Projects in terms of Package System Design / Implementation support.
- The development of complete package concept and specifications.
- Application of new technologies, materials and cost reduction projects where appropriate.
- The role includes the opportunity to lead and participate in cross-functional projects involving process, production and all other aspects of medical device technology.
- Ensure quality of process and product as defined in appropriate SOP's and Material Specifications.
- Ensure GMP's and process safety guidelines is adhered to.
- Training of manufacturing team members.
- Interface with Product Development, Quality Assurance and Regulatory departments to provide customer with a quality product in a timely manner.
- Validation, appraisal and support of packaging suppliers – (equipment and material).
- Communicate and participate in system and process troubleshooting projects with support from team members and with external agents.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional and cross divisional process improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Packaging Technology or equivalent.
- The Individual must have at least 2 years experience within a packaging design or process environment in a regulated environment such as Pharma / Medical Devices.
- Strong communication skills with both internal and external Customers.
- Flexibility essential with strong project management skills.
- The individual should enjoy working in an aggressive, dynamic and results motivated team base.
- Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
