Matrix Recruitment is working closely with a leading Medical Devices manufacturer in the recruitment of a Lead Quality Engineer (Manufacturing) for its Midlands Plant on a permanent basis.
Role Summary:
Reporting to the Quality Director you will be responsible for providing quality support to all aspects of the company’s manufacturing processes, including supplier selection through to final product release.
Essential Criteria:
Degree in Quality, Engineering, Science or related subject
Approx 8 - 10 years industry experience. Medical Device / Pharmaceutical experience preferred.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of FDA and ISO regulatory requirements.
Strong computer skills a must.
Familiarity with statistical analysis tools.
Familiarity with FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and root cause analysis tools.
Familiarity with other analysis tools - Excel pivot tables, correlation studies, process validation, gauge R&R.
Regulatory experience with UL and IEC standards is desired.
Ability to communicate highly technical information to both non-technical & technical associates.
Key Accountabilities:
o Selects appropriate techniques for problem solving and makes solid and consistent Engineering and Quality Assurance recommendations.
o Demonstrates and promotes highest levels of professional QA engineering discipline and rigor.
o Is viewed as a leader in the areas of QSR and ISO/MDD standards within one’s own group, constantly promotion awareness of best industry practices making appropriate decisions on a daily basis using the Site Quality Director as the final arbitrator on critical quality decisions.
o Has significant expertise in risk management and validation engineering.
o Champions continuous improvement and innovation from a quality perspective within the department right from vendor selection/approval through to customer awareness/satisfaction.
o Is an effective team member, fully motivated to achieve and demonstrate best practices in line with the department objectives.HH
o Supervises and provides technical guidance to Quality Engineers, Quality Technicians and Inspection staff.
o Leads all external regulatory audits in areas of their responsibility.
