Our client is the most widely used meter management system for water in Ireland. Founded in 2002 in Clonmel, Ireland, they support the introductions of widespread AMR for non-domestic metering. An opportunity has now arisen for a Web Developer / Applications Developer to join their team.

Joining a small, dynamic team, as a Web Developer / Applications Developer, you will be tasked with implementing high availability internet services and mobile device software. Using the latest tools, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in a large variety of interesting work.
You will play a key role in delivering fully managed meter data management services over the internet, and meter reading software on mobile devices to utilities and local authorities. Server side, our client uses a Linux cluster with a mixture of SQL and NoSQL to deliver scalable low latency service.
To be considered for this position, you must have
- web applications development experience, using Java and Linux
- a degree in a relevant IT discipline such as computer science
As a Web Developer / Applications Developer, you must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach are also key.
Although not essential, experience of Windows Mobile and Android development would be an advantage to your application. Knowledge of NoSQL and MapReduce (Riak) would also be beneficial.
