FRS Recruitment are currently hiring a Software Support Engineer for our Galway client who are currently expanding their R&D lab.
Job Description:
- Tasks will include product introduction support, problem investigation, installation and commissioning, product testing and documentation, post introduction support including onsite customer support where necessary.
- The role also supports the R&D aspects of product introduction including interoperability testing, test planning, design standards assessment, verification and trial support, customer demonstration; provides support to customer and account teams to understand customer requirements and responds to customer problems.
- There is also design level support for my client's media services applications including application troubleshooting, bug fixing and design level testing.
Background:
- Programming skills (e.g. Java, C++) and a knowledge of web services would be a definite advantage as the role may occasionally involve creating solution prototypes, test harnesses for open interfaces and also ongoing problem analysis.
- A good working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems is also required
- Identifies unusual technical problems and escalates them for resolution.
- Works with limited guidance on projects within defined criteria.
- Provides technical solutions to a diverse range of moderately complex problems.
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 0 - 2 years experience or STA equivalent with at least 3 years experience.”
