The Strategic Logistics Leader is responsible for the management of key elements of the Logistics operation in our clients Cork facility and globally supporting the Strategic Logistics Manager with the development and implementation of a global Logistics Strategy. This includes initiating improvements in logistics operation, and facilitating a strategic outlook that will better serve all stakeholders. The role leads and implements key projects that improve tools, process, productivity, and completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and developing relationships with current, new and potential Logistics service providers.
  • Financial reporting and support of budgeting process.
  • Overcome road blocks to ensure deliveries are made in line with internal and external Customers’ requirements globally.
  • Drive standardisation of Transportation & Warehousing processes globally
  • Drive data analysis and support business case development for key projects
  • Supporting Variable Cost Productivity initiatives.
  • Responsible for on time delivery globally to Dealers from Cork Site.
  • Developing, measuring and reporting process and performance metrics to drive improvements (KPI’s).
  • Working cross-functionally with sourcing, operations, supply chain and finance to identify improvement opportunities and implement successful changes.
  • Support Warehousing & Transportation optimisation/Lean projects.
  • Leading change initiatives that will enable logistics to reach a world-class level of operations.
  • Maintain and develop relationship with Irish Customs & Revenue ensuring on-going compliance with optimal business practice.
Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Engineering and relevant track record over 8 years + years of experience working in logistics, engineering, or supply chain management, from within within the Pharmaceutical Industry.
  • Proven business/financial acumen, including demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, solve complex problems, and drive change at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to meet deadline in a fast paces changing environment.
  • Experience with cGDP & cGMP compliance in a Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Ex Manufacturing.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Freight Industry especially with Air, Road & Ocean, some knowledge of Rail preferred.
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of time
