The Financial Accountant will be responsible for supporting various aspects of the company's finance function over the coming 12 months . The role, based in this team, will report directly to the Financial Controller and will involve interaction with a broad cross section of the entire organisation

The key duties of the role for this phase include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of cash flow reports and cash flow projections
  • Regular update of scheme forecasts
  • Monitoring and Investigating Scheme Exceptions,
  • Provision of analysis and support to function managers
  • Support for Operational Treasury management
  • Management of daily/weekly funds settlement to all Scheme Participants (including Internet/Autoload customers)
  • Preparation of Annual Statutory accounts
  • Contribute to all internal and external audits (e.g. C&AG)
  • Contribute to the Quarterly Risk report
  • Monitoring all internal controls on a timely basis.
  • Planning and implementation of related financial activities
  • Assist with preparation of scheme budgets and forecasts.

System activities

The key duties of this aspect of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the development of Agresso and other Financial systems functionality & reporting
  • Lead testing of Agresso system functionality and reporting
  • Assist with Testing of new scheme functionality and enhancements as they become available
  • Assist with the development of the business policies and procedures
  • Review internal control aspects of system
Other ad-hoc duties as required

Beyond the core role outlined above the Financial Accountant may have the opportunity to contribute proactively to the planning and implementation of a wider range of finance activities. This could include documenting current processes and supporting hand over of such activities to others.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel level of expertise
Experience Required:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA,CPA or CIMA)
  • At least 2-3 years PQE, working within a finance team, performing a wide range of duties
  • Experience of working within a strong control environment which places clear emphasis on a high standard of governance
