The Irish Community Air Ambulance has named Mícheál Sheridan as its new CEO, as well as boosting its board with new appointees Tim Shattock, Dr Lisa Cunningham, Kieran McGeary and Sharon Looney.
With two helicopters at its medical aerodrome in Rathcoole, Co Cork, the charity-funded Air Ambulance was tasked to 490 incidents in 13 counties in 2020. In 2020, the service cost €1.5m to run. There have been 175 taskings already in 2021.
Mícheál Sheridan has worked in the not-for-profit sector for 24 years, notably as CEO of the Mercy University Hospital Foundation for the past 13 years. The Cavan man is a board member of Charities Institute Ireland and is a former chair of Fundraising Ireland. He has an MSc in Business and Leadership from the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.
Tim Shattock has vast aviation industry experience, including as CEO of Parc Aviation (former Aer Lingus subsidiary) and as CEO Gulf Aviation Academy, establishing its operations in Bahrain.
Dr Lisa Cunningham is an emergency specialist and works as a HEMS Doctor with Essex & Herts Air Ambulance in the UK. She is also team doctor with the Mayo Ladies Footballers.
Kieran McGeary is CEO of Cork’s 96FM and C103 radio stations. He has also worked for BBC and commercial radio in the UK, and with Beat 102 103 in Ireland.
Sharon Looney is a C-Level HR strategist. Her work influences have spanned 21 countries across multiple industries and cultures. She was chosen as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of The Year at the World HRD Congress 2019.
Colm Eustace is former CEO of Glanbia Agribusiness. He is a non-executive director with several agriculture and transport-related organisations in Cork, Waterford and Kilkenny.
