Social Care Leader - Wexford

Our client is responsible for providing high quality short & medium term residential based services to young people. The centre provides care to young people of mixed gender between the ages of 12 and 17 years.. Job Responsibilities:

To work in co-operation with the Unit Manager, to create and maintain a warm, accepting and secure environment for the young people in our care. To work under the guidance and direction of the Unit Manager, to ensure that the highest possible standards of child care are maintained at all times within the unit. Role modeling a child centred approach to both staff and young people. To devise & develop a comprehensive Placement Plan in partnership with the young person, family, and other relevant parties. To ensure that the Placement Plan is actioned, monitored, and evaluated with the full involvement of the young person & staff members. To proactively facilitate the participation of young people and their parents in the decision making process. To provide appropriate care and supervision of individual children and groups of young people, both within the centre and while engaged in outside activities. To protect each child from bullying and intimidation.

Job Requirements

A recognised Social Care Qualification A current full driver's licence is highly desirable. Achievement in managing professional staff Experience in, and demonstrated ability to empower others to achieve A successful record in the delivery of care services to a high standard Good computing skills, including the use of MS Office software (Word, Excel, Power point and web browsers) A sound knowledge and proven ability to interpret and apply legislation; e.g. National Standards for Children's Residential Services 2001, Children Act 2001.
