We are a young and rapidly growing software firm based in Limerick City. Due to our expansion we are now recruiting a number of software engineers. These are new permanent job, based full time on site in Limerick City, and these jobs offers you a challenging and fun work environment with the opportunity to work on very advanced “bleeding edge” technology projects. We are looking to hire engineers at junior, intermediate and senior career levels.
Job Description:
We seek software engineers who have a flair for Linux programming and who can contribute to the development of software for our voice, video and data networking products. We seek applications from engineering graduates who have between 8 months to 8 yrs years proven experience in Linux programming (ie junior/intern level up to and including senior level Engineers).
Roles & Responsibilities
• Design and develop voice, video and data over IP networking software, e.g. VoIP PBX.
• Code real-time comms & networking software in C, C++ and Linux shell scripting languages.
• Code user interface and device management software in a mix of HTML, PHP and SQL.
• Ensure high run-time performance of software, e.g. profile the code and optimise it.
• Travel to client sites to integrate, test and commission software.
• Review and test your software to meet defined functional and quality expectations.
• Document architecture, design, tests, user manuals and installation manuals.
• Participate in the ongoing improvement and support of our software development environment, including development tools and software configuration management utilities.
Required Skills and Experience:
Essential Skills
• Honours Degree in Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a similar discipline.
• At least 1 years experience in Linux, C, C++ and Linux shell script programming.
• Knowledge of networking protocols, e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, SIP, RTP and Ethernet.
• Experience in code-debugging, performance profiling and optimization.
• An understanding of computer architecture fundamentals, e.g. micro processors, digital buses, I/O interfaces and memory architectures.
Advantageous Skills:
• Experience of software version control systems and bug trackers, e.g. Subversion, Trac.
• Linux device driver and kernel-mode programming.
• Programming for other real-time operating systems, e.g. VxWorks, QNX.
• Multi-thread, multi-process, multi-core application development.
• HTML, SQL, PHP, Java or shell script development.
