We are a leading USA hi-tech software firm with a significant presence in Limerick City. Due to ongoing expansion we are now hiring for the position of Progress 4GL SW Developer, Limerick. This is a permanent career opportunity offering excellent starting salary and a full benefits package. Role:
You will be performing software development, maintenance and enhancement of new and/or existing software systems on various platforms (mostly Unix, but also Windows and NT) using Progress (currently v10) and Java. You will also be responsible for debugging and implementing modifications, and for ensuring that solutions conform to current industry standards. Your role will include documentation of product components and assisting in the development of user guides and install guides. You will perform unit and integration testing and you will also participate in training and development opportunities.
Required Experience:
Educated to degree level in a relevant subject area (e.g. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering), you have circa 3 - 5 years software work experience, and you have solid experience of Progress (minimum 2 years). Additional desirable skills include Java, C/C++, Unix scripting skills, Visual C#, Webspeed and any understanding of the finance modules of any major ERP.
Good communication skills are essential for this role.
