Job Purpose:
You will be responsible for the specification and design and commissioning of control systems for manufacturing equipment taking into consideration schedule and budget for Software and Hardware development
Responsibilities:
· Develop, debug and validate Control System software programs
· Analyse, understand, fault-find and modify software programs written by other developers
· Develop software for control of automated manufacturing equipment through Visual Basic.net.
· Develop, commission and support of motion systems on manufacturing systems.
· You will implement code changes to the automation systems under change control.
· Knowledge of Vision systems design and commissioning.
· Develop a detailed understanding of all of the different automation systems including distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers including SLC 500, Micrologics, Logix 5000.
· Responsible for the specification and design of control systems for new and existing manufacturing equipment taking into consideration schedule and budget Software / Hardware development
· Familiar with the Electrical safety standards and CE marking standards as they apply to equipment.
· Develop Functional and Detailed Design Specifications from formal and informal User Requirement Specifications
· Develop high quality right first time PLC and HMI code from Functional and Detailed Design Specifications
· Develop implement and debug code with minimal impact to production operating under 24/7 environment
· Debug third party developed software Fault-find complex automation equipment Maintain comprehensive documentation of code developed by self or others
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
· You will have a NCEA Certificate or Diploma / Degree in software / Automation Engineering and at least 4 years experience in a regulated environment and ideally in the medical device industry.
· You will possess the following skills:
o Relevant experience of commissioning of equipment
o A knowledge of Allen Brady PLC, Siemens S7 and PC Controlled equipment
o Knowledge of Allen Bradley ControlLogix5000, APT, Pilz Safety PLCs and InTouch
o Software Experience with software Validation and familiar with GAMP is a must
o Knowledge of laser, vision robot and RFID systems would be desirable
o You will have experience documenting work procedures in compliance to all ISO9001 and current GMP procedures and practices.
o You will be able to work well both in a team environment and on your own initiative.
o You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
o You will have good organisational skills and be technically competent.
