The Role :
Based at a manufacturing facility in Mullingar Co. Westmeath and reporting directly to and deputising as required for the Finance Manager, the successful appointee will play an integral part in a fast-paced, system driven finance function in a leading FMCG company. While working closely with finance, manufacturing & supply chain teams, key responsibilities will include:

  • To develop meaningful long term working relationships with colleagues to ensure commercial opportunities can be achieved and all colleagues have a shared responsibility for key objectives.
  • Develop innovative solutions to business issues and deliver practical solutions, which benefit performance in a measurable way.
  • Overheads – planning, forecasting, and reporting on actual versus budget
  • Managing a team, allocating work and ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are prioritised
  • Providing ongoing feedback to staff and performing periodic performance reviews
  • To prepare annual budgets, regular forecasts, and standard transfer costs & manage non financial KPI’s across the site; to engage with Budget owners to deliver identified targets.
  • Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Preparation and Accountability
  • Ensure work is completed to best in class standards and is compliant with all legislative / regulatory obligations including Sarbanes Oxley.


Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant
  • With minimum 5 years finanace management experience
  • With strong analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Strong character
  • A dynamic approach in which the status-quo is challenged is required


Ideal Experience:

  • Experience of working with an ERP system
  • SOX experience
  • Unionised experience
  • Experience in an FMCG or manufacturing environment ideal.
