A superb opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our client, a maintenance outsourcing and asset management company. You will be working from a client site in Limerick, where they use highly automated production processes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a process engineer with a technical background and process control analysis skills using ANOVA and DOE technologies, in addition to knowledge of Six Sigma or continuous improvement. As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will plan and conduct activities that will optimise new processes. This will include researching current and emerging technologies and evaluating process costs, quality and capable alternatives.
Additionally you will perform process characterisation and optimisation using designed experiments and problem and decision making tools. You will assess the process capabilities, prioritise the improvement opportunities and innovate and implement improvements on multiple and complex processes.
Your other duties will include:
- Preparing and presenting technical data and recommendations during reviews
- Ensuring all developments and improvements meet the requirements of the quality management system
- Engaging with personnel in the identification and resolution of corrective and/or preventative actions
- Ensuring new product introduction and/or research and development projects are completed
- Participating in risk assessments and HAZOPs of manufacturing processes and equipment
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Experience gained within a process engineering role, within the manufacturing or engineering sector
- A strong technical background with knowledge of process control analysis using ANOVA and DOE technologies, in addition to Six Sigma and/or continuous improvement methodologies
- A degree within a relevant discipline such as process, production, manufacturing, polymer, materials or mechanical engineering
As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills coupled with plenty of initiative. Flexible, you must be an analytical thinker with great problem-solving abilities and a good attention to detail.
Experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical or other regulated industry would be beneficial to your application. A proven track record in the use of 'Black Belt' statistical techniques would also be an advantage.
