They will:
- Provide decisions on Life cover, Specified Illness cover and Income Protection cover
- Liaise with the full spectrum of sales channels, including Brokers, direct business etc
The ideal candidate will be an experienced life underwriter with a strong customer focus, ideally with authority limits to sign off €1,000,000 Life Cover, €250,000 Serious Illness Cover & €30,000 Income Protection at standard rates with a corresponding substandard authority limit.
They will also possess the following skills and competencies:
- Ability to make technical underwriting decisions on Life Cover, Serious Illness Cover, Income Protection & other rider benefits up to the authority levels as above.
- A Diploma in Medical Underwriting (DLDU) or an Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) qualification are desirable but is not essential
- Experience in dealing with Chief Medical Officers, Reassurers & Financial Advisors
- Experience working to very tight deadlines and ability to meet very high quality standards
- Ability to handle phones calls of a technical medical nature from financial advisers
- Be prepared on occasion to work beyond the normal requirements in order to get the job done
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
