The Dell Solution Centers (DSC) Solution Architect - Cloud will engage directly with enterprise and public segment customers and sales teams to showcase, demonstrate and architect Dell’s complex, enterprise class cloud solutions. This will include leading proof of concept sessions to enable large, complex sales. The Solutions Architect is expected to interact at all levels of the Customer’s IT organization including the CIO.
The role requires detailed experience in the following areas:
- Customer technical presentation and pain point solution architecture
- Private/Public/Hybrid Cloud Environments
- Hadoop and OpenStack Cloud solutions
- Knowledge and /or experience with IaaS, PaaS or Big Data solutions such as with Azure, AsterData
- Enterprise Datacenter Virtualization
- Datacenter Operations including Server, Storage (SAN,NAS,DAS), Security and Networking setup, configuration, operation and management
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engage with sales team and customer for Architecture Workshop, demonstration and proof of concept sessions in the Dell Solution Centers (DSC).
- Provide Technical Leadership in cloud technologies and solutions.
- Develop technical reference material such as whitepapers, reference architectures, briefings
- Identify intellectual property and submit patent applications.
- Ensure technical excellence within the organization through mentoring, training, knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
- Cloud expertise and knowledge of solutions development, components and architectures
- Hands on experience with Hadoop and OpenStack cloud solutions or similar IaaS, PaaS and Big Data solutions
- Broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways
- Expertise in other core Dell technologies; Enterprise, Client, Storage, Network systems, Software and Peripherals
- Understanding of Cloud, Virtualization, and Flex computing models
- Architect experience within large IT environments especially within Cloud and core Dell technology offerings solving customer requirements and pain points.
- Demonstrate extensive creativity and expertise in information systems discipline.
- Strong analysis and communication skills and the ability to resolve complex technical problems.
- Demonstrated experience in accurately deriving customer pain points and architecting solutions to address.
- Advanced presentation skills
- Expert knowledge of Dell offerings and toolsets used on projects.
- English Fluency.
- Ability to interact effectively with internal and external contacts (Account Management, Customer, Product Development, Consulting Team, Solutions Architect, Employees, and Venders).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- BS in Information Systems or Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar discipline and 8+ years applicable experience.
- MS in Information Systems or Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar discipline and 6+ years applicable experience.
