COMPONENTS ENGINEERING MANAGER required by CareerWise Recruitment for our client based in Dublin to be responsible for leading and directing engineering design and development activities for the components sector of excellence which includes high pressure fuel valves, components, and systems.Contact Ken Murphy on 00353 21 4297538 for more information.

REQUIREMENTS: *An Engineering degree, preferably Masters, or higher qualification in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering with substantial space/aerospace systems design and development experience or similar field, with at least three years of engineering management level experience. *An exceptional man-manager with the ability and proven skills required to manage, motivate and direct the activities of a diverse engineering team. Team motivation and persuasive, enthusiastic people management is essential in order to quickly resolve day-to-day issues. A hands on member of the team who is capable of and has experience of new product development, with the ability to give direction and take on intensive product design. Good communication skills are essential. *An in-depth knowledge of high pressure fuel system valve design from either a space or aerospace engineering environment would be advantageous. *Should be familiar with precision design using high-end metallic alloys, related material properties and characteristics as well as fabrication techniques. *Experience of the European Space Industry and ESA proposals desirable. *Must have exceptional project planning skills to ensure optimum utilisation of resources and prioritorisation of resources at all times. *Lead and drive forward company innovation using advanced design techniques and materials to increase performance and decrease cost. *Proficiency in preparing proposal input, presentations and technical papers desired. Also will be responsible for the cost centre budget preparation, monitoring, and control. *Hands-on experience of Pro-Engineer design tools would be advantageous. *Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge; skills and abilities may be substituted.

THE ROLE: *Lead and manage the Components Engineering Department across multi-site operations in the UK & Ireland. Based in the Dublin facility, the position requires close co-operation with sister engineering department in the UK. *Identify resource needs to provide the resources required by the program terms *Responsible for all design and analysis activities for liquid rocket engine components, and systems. *Integral team member with marketing and program management to improve product offerings. *Responsible for technical proposal input, technical papers, and presentations. *Responsible for cost centre budget. *Responsible for keeping engineering at the forefront of technology in the area of space propulsion systems. *Interfaces with the technical management of customers and potential customers.
