Sales Director – EMEA (Cork, Ireland)
Our client, a global IT software leader, is seeking a first rate Sales Director to join its dynamic team in Cork, Ireland. Reporting to the Senior Vice President EMEA, the role will encompass responsibility for creating and delivering the sales strategy for the Centralised Sales Department for the EMEA region. A substantial proportion of EMEA Sales is driven by this department; therefore the successful candidate will play a fundamental role in developing future growth, providing direction, vision and leadership for the Centralised Sales and EMEA Sales Organisation.

The specific details of the role include the following:

  • Developing SMB (Server Message Block), renewals and upsell strategies, tactics, activities and sales plans to meet challenging targets by the centralised sales teams.
  • Increasing renewal and upsell rates from the company’s extensive existing customer base.
  • Growing market share in existing and new small-to-medium business markets and maximising new business development opportunities.
  • Achieving targets for revenue, profitability and sales growth.
  • Analysing, identifying and reporting on business opportunities, trends and growth potential in target markets.
  • Liaising with the SMB Marketing Manager to develop effective marketing strategies to develop business potential.
  • Co-ordinating sales operations and sales processes to ensure effective, efficient and productive business operations.
  • Ensuring strong business relations with the EMEA Business Units and EMEA stakeholders.
  • Leading and influencing a successful and experienced team of Sales Managers.
  • Effective performance management of an internal and external sales team.
  • Attracting, training and motivating a diverse and multi-cultural sales force.
Skills and Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree in a business related field (an MBA is highly desirable though not a pre-requisite).
  • Significant experience in a senior sales management/director level role is essential.
  • Experience in a similar environment is required, ideally within the IT industry and ideally in a multi-cultural organisation.
  • Must have demonstrable leadership ability and a proven track record of delivering challenging targets, inspiring and motivating an existing high performing team.
