Our client is one of the leading manufcaturing companies they currently have a requirement for a Senior Polymer Chemist based in Galway.
Responsibilities:
- Lead or support the development of new product/process designs, the development of analytical techniques, and the development and analysis of design of experiments.
- Ensures that all products/processes are developed in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Keeps up to date with new technologies, analytical methods and products.
- Participate in the transfer of products from pilot production to full manufacturing.
- Provide input and direction to management on chemicals, materials and other technical issues.
- Provide scientific leader for the development and validation of analytical methods for the characterization of medical device materials.
- Provide scientific leadership as an expert in various analytical techniques such as GC, HPLC, MS, SEM, ICAP, FTIR and use other polymer/material tests evaluation techniques such as TGA and DSC.
Requirements
- Candidates must have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar rol
- PhD and a minimum of three years of applied experience or Masters Degree and a minimum of seven years of applied experience are essential.
- Strong analytical and instrumental skills and a thorough understanding and working knowledge of analytical method development and validation with emphasis on hydrophilic coatings and processes.
