Business movers: People starting new jobs in Ireland

Here is a selection of people starting new roles with Saint John of God, Irish Funds, Kepak, O’Flynn Exhams, National Cancer Registry Board and IBM.

Kevin Madigan has been appointed as CEO of Saint John of God Community Services, an operator of HSE-funded services to children and adults with intellectual disability. With St John of God since 2000, he was regional director at St John of God Community Mental Health Services, 2021-24. Kevin has led several studies and his research is widely published, and won the Social Entrepreneur of Ireland Award. He holds a Masters in Healthcare Management from the Institute of Leadership at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and a Masters by Research in Organisational Change with the Department of Medicine and Health Sciences, also RCSI.

Natasha Haugh has been appointed as director of member services with the Irish Funds Industry Association (Irish Funds), which represents the funds and asset management industry in Ireland, with 150 firms and 5,500 members. She has over 25 years’ experience in the funds and asset management industry in Ireland. During her career she has worked with some of the world’s leading fund managers and administrators, across multiple disciplines. Her prior roles include director of relationship management with Carne, and head of offshore and onshore service delivery management at BNY Mellon. Natasha will lead the member services team which provide comprehensive support and services to member organisations.

Brian Tormey has been appointed as CEO of the meat division with food company Kepak Group. He was previously Kepak’s chief operating officer since 2018. Originally from Kilbeggan, Co Westmeath, he has been with Kepak since 2007 and has over 25 years of meat industry experience. He has held other senior positions at Kepak including director of operations and head of project management. Brian’s knowledge of meat craftmanship began at a young age having grown up working in his family butcher shops in Westmeath, Offaly and Galway. “I look forward to building on our strong platform for growth alongside our dedicated team,” said Brian.

Niamh Carey has been appointed as a legal associate with commercial law firm O’Flynn Exhams. An experienced solicitor, Niamh joins the firm’s regulatory and public law team. A Blarney native, she returns to the firm, having completed her solicitor training at OFX in 2022 after studying for a degree in Law and French at UCC and graduating with a Masters in European Law from the College of Europe, Bruges. She brings local, national and international expertise to her new role as an associate in the corporate and commercial department, having worked with A&L Goodbody in Dublin and with the European Court of Auditors in Luxembourg.

Dr Robert O’Connor has been appointed as the new chair of the National Cancer Registry Board (NCRB), which marks its 30th anniversary of collecting cancer information for the people of the Republic of Ireland. He has been a member of the board since 2019. He has served on multiple national charity, health and research boards and is director of the National Clinical Trials Office. He brings 25 years of experience in clinical trials, oncology and translational health research. He served as executive chair at ICORG (now Cancer Trials Ireland). A former lecturer at DCU, he was also director of research for the Irish Cancer Society.

Nathan Cullen has been appointed country general manager and technology leader for IBM Ireland, global hybrid cloud and AI firm. He succeeds Deborah Threadgold, who has been promoted to Vp of cross-brand technology sales, IBM UK & Ireland. He was most recently ecosystem leader for IBM Ireland, leading technology sales revenue via channel partnerships. He has also held leadership positions in Ireland and worldwide within software development and offering management during his 16-year career at IBM. IBM has had a presence in Ireland for 65 years. Earlier this year, IBM and Red Hat unveiled plans to create 800 jobs across Dublin, Cork and Waterford by 2027.
