Business movers: People starting new jobs in Ireland

Here is a selection of people starting new roles with Samsung, Magnet+, the Irish Wheelchair Association, EHS International, Teagasc and TEKenable.

Annika Bizon has been promoted to head of MX Ireland with Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland. Currently the electronics firm’s marketing and ominichannel director, her position has expanded to include oversight of marketing, product management and the commercial operations of Samsung’s Irish division. Annika brings 20 years of leadership experience in end-to-end consumer and channel excellence across online, digital, call centres, retail and marketing. She also plays a pivotal role in shaping the direction and future of Samsung’s marketing and omnichannel operations. Her previous roles include commercial director, UK & Ireland, with 20th Century Fox, and GMT and channel management director with Three UK.

Patrick Masterson has been appointed as managing director of Magnet+, the independent connectivity network. With a proven history of success in strategic direction and enhancing commercial results, Patrick will bring expert leadership skills and knowledge to his new role, which will help Magnet+ continue to develop and expand its network and provide customers with the highest quality services. After completing an MBA with Henley Business School in the UK, Patrick held several commercial director and chief commercial officer roles in leading irish companies across the retail, healthcare and technology sectors. He brings more than 20 years of experience across commercial, sales and marketing.

Ann Marie O’Grady has been appointed as CEO with the Irish Wheelchair Association. She brings a wealth of experience and business acumen gained through her tenure in senior roles within St James’s Hospital, Beaumont Hospital, and most recently as CEO of Leopardstown Park Hospital. Her expertise and dedication make her the perfect fit for Irish Wheelchair Association’s mission. “As a keen sportswoman myself, I was honoured to meet with IWA founding member and Paralympian, Dr Oliver Murphy as one of my first engagements. The IWA values of openness, courage, integrity, visionary, excellence, equality and fun are close to my heart,” said Ann Marie.

Paul O’Regan has been appointed as fire and rescue director with EHS International, the Cork-based single-source Irish environmental, health and safety (EHS) company founded by Chris Mee. He brings over 32 years in the Cork City Fire Brigade to his new role. In his new role, Paul will leverage his extensive experience in national and international training for fire and rescue services to enhance EHS International’s programmes and emergency response strategies. He will lead a team of over 30 instructors. He brings significant insights and leadership in health, safety, and emergency response solutions. EHS International officially launched in October with an investment of €5 million.

Dr Helen Sheridan has been to the Teagasc Authority, the governing board of agri-food body Teagasc. She is an associate professor in the School of Agriculture and Food Science at UCD. She comes from a drystock farm in Co Longford. She holds a BAgrSc, Degree in Agricultural Science from UCD. She also has a PhD in Agricultural Ecology from UCD, completed as a Walsh Fellow based at Teagasc Johnstown Castle, Co Wexford. She lectures in Farm Landscape Ecology and Agri-Environmental Policy and is programme director of the BAgrSc Agri-Environmental Sciences. Helen has conducted research on multispecies swards at UCD Lyons Farm for over a decade.

Gin Matharu has been appointed as partner manager UK with digital services firm TEKenable, managing existing partner relationships with Microsoft, Salesforce and forging new partnerships with technology distributors, re-sellers and ISVs. Gin joins from Blackthourn.io, where he managed alliances and partners across EMEA. He has over 12 years in IT business, notably partnering with Cognizant and Publicis Sapient; he has also held roles at Salesforce, focusing on Revenue Cloud. Gin holds a post grad in Design Management from Leicester De Montfort University, a diploma in Direct Marketing from the IDM (now part DMA), an MBA from the University of the People, Pasadena, California.
