Business movers: People starting new jobs in Ireland

Here is a selection of people starting new roles with Vodafone Ireland, Mackin Group, AIB, Meitheal Architects, Arachas Corporate Brokers and MedoSync.

Mark Denley has been appointed as chief financial officer with Vodafone Ireland, overseeing financial performance. He has been with Vodafone for 17 years as a key member of Vodafone UK & Group finance leadership teams, his most recent roles being head of finance in group business; head of finance for UK Business, and prior to that he was the head of UK cost transformation. Mark has been a key force for driving innovation and positive transformation, playing a pivotal role in shifting Vodafone UK back to service revenue and increasing financial growth. Mark is also a keen advocate of Vodafone’s diversity and inclusion programmes.

Naoise McGuinness has been appointed as executive assistant to the chief operations officer with the Mackin Group, a global professional services company based in Cork. Naoise brings expertise in languages, intercultural communication and creative writing, as well as eight years in hospitality. She was a commercialisation administrator with estate agents Savills Ireland, working in in administration and client relations. She brings skills in office management, secretarial duties, and client relationship management, content creation, research and data analysis. She won the Miriam Cotter Scholarship and the Puttnam Scholarship in UCC. Founded by Andy Mackin in 2004, Mackin Group’s includes Mackin EHS and Mackin Talent.

Paul Travers has been appointed as managing director for climate capital with AIB, supporting the delivery of a three-year strategy to increase lending for sustainable infrastructure projects. He will focus on renewable energy and other green projects across Ireland, UK, Europe and North America. Paul joined AIB six years ago as head of energy, climate action and infrastructure. Prior to joining AIB, he was head of Macquarie Capital Ireland, the specialist infrastructure and renewables investor. AIB’s new Climate Capital segment will be the fastest growing part of the bank’s lending book, deploying AIB’s €30bn Climate Action Fund and underpinning its green bond offerings.

Joseph Chapman has been appointed as an architectural technologist based in Dublin with Meitheal Architects, the architecture and urban design practice. He brings 20 years of experience in construction. He previously worked as a senior architectural technologist in ALTU Architects, Burke-Kennedy Doyle Architects and Oppermann Associates. He specialises in large-scale residential, commercial and restoration projects. The firm has more than doubled in the last five years, growing to over 60 staff in Dublin and Cork. The practice starts 2024 with a client portfolio of over 2,100 homes under construction, with overall 4,000 homes in varying stages of development. This residential portfolio is worth over €450m.

Joey Wynne has been appointed CEO of Arachas Corporate Brokers, the nationwide Insurance broker with over 700 employees at 18 offices across the country. He will lead the strategic and operational leadership of the business. Prior to his appointment as CEO, Mr Wynne was deputy CEO of Arachas, managing the day-to-day running of the business. He joined Arachas in 2019 as the firm’s chief commercial officer. This move followed the company’s purchase of Murray & Spelman, where he had been commercial director for over a decade. Arachas is part of the Ardonagh Group, one of the world’s largest independent insurance distribution platforms.

Peter Scott has been appointed as chief revenue officer with Irish medtech start-up MedoSync. A former vice-president of sales with Salesforce and Tableau, he brings a wealth of experience of sales within the tech sector, having led teams in tech companies in UK and Ireland. With Salesforce and Tableau, he led Enterprise UK teams in the commercial strategic, professional services and energy and utilities sectors. MedoSync provides a secure platform that integrates hospital and insurer systems enabling accurate, real-time medical billing. Since its launch in 2021, its solution has been used to submit more than 100,000 claims, valued at over €20m.
