Financial Controller

A Financial Controller is required by CareerWise Recruitment to join our Cork based client - a long established non-profit organisation and a registered charity. Role manages all financial and accounting functions ,providing expert financial advice and control frameworks to the Senior Management Team, Board of Governors and Board Sub-Committees
 

Role:

* Financial Management & Reporting - Develop annual budgets, both operational and capital, in conjunction with the Senior Management Team and produce ad-hoc strategic financial reports.

 * Produce monthly management accounts for presentation to Senior Management, Finance, Audit, & Risk (FAR) Committee and Board of Governors.

 * Ensure adequate robust cash flow management and expenditure controls.

* Provide financial analysis for capital projects and investments

*Manage the finance function and its members appropriately.

* Manage charity-specific financial requirements including restricted and unrestricted fund accounting, donor and sponsorship income, and compliance with charitable fundraising regulations.

* Compliance & Governance Manage compliance with Companies Registration Office, Charities Regulatory Authority, and other mandatory reporting requirements.

* Ensure timely submission of applicable Revenue Commissioners tax returns and compliance with VAT regulations.

* Oversight of payroll and work with our Pension Advisor on the company pension plan administration.

* Administration & IT - Oversee management of IT systems including internal infrastructure, visitor interface systems, and telecommunications ensuring high standards, value for money, and security.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Professional qualification in Financial/Management accountancy (ACA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA) 

* Minimum seven years' financial management experience, including management roles

* Knowledge of charity regulatory environment (advantageous)

*  Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills - Proficiency with IT systems -
