A Health & Safety Specialist is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our client based in Galway. In this role, you will provide Health and Safety (H&S) services to support world-class manufacturing standards. Key tasks would include responsibility for keeping people free from danger, risk, or injury in the workplace. Manage and improve H&S standard work requirements, achieve compliance to all Irish legislative requirements. Influence management of change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis, must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence within the functional operations teams. THE ROLE:
* Develop the Health & Safety strategy for the site and identify the key projects to deliver all primary metrics.
* Report monthly to EHS corporate team and site management on key lagging and leading indicators for the site.
* Manage incident investigation process on site and report to regulatory and corporate bodies as required. Co-ordinate with operations' teams to ensure corrective actions are identified and implemented.
* Support subsidiary sites in Ireland and provide support on EHS matters for those sites.
* Provide Health and Safety support for the value streams to world-class standards ensuring that products and deliveries are built in the safest and most efficient manner.
* Monitor key changes in legislation and report to management to ensure the site is compliant.
* Manage the site's ISO standards, 45001, co-ordinate key activities and audits.
* Ensure that Corporate standard work requirements are compliant for the relevant modules, refer to BOS for responsibilities.
* Manage the site's Behavioural Based Safety programme ensuring that all observations and corrective actions are completed on schedule.
* Manage the sites ergonomic programme.
* Manage Health & Safety Training per training matrix.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Honours Degree(L8) in Health & Safety or equivalent
* 5+ years' experience working in a world class-manufacturing facility is preferred.
* Good, all-round knowledge of H&S in the workplace
* Communication - builds cross-functional awareness; clearly communicates project team expectations; good influencing / negotiation / conflict resolution skills.
* Accomplished programme manager
* Advanced skills in business, finance, cross-functional awareness, leadership, communication, influence, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
