Audit Senior (Newly / Part-Qualified)
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Audit Senior to join our client's expanding audit team. This role is ideal for a newly qualified or part-qualified accounting professional who has solid experience in practice and is looking to take the next step in their career. You will play a key role in leading audit engagements, supervising junior staff, and supporting the delivery of high-quality audit services to a diverse portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Delivery
- Lead and execute audit engagements from planning through completion.
- Ensure audit files and associated documentation are completed accurately, efficiently, and within agreed timeframes.
- Prepare detailed audit workpapers to support findings and the final audit report.
- Perform audit procedures in line with International Standards on Auditing (ISA) and firm methodology.
- Conduct process walkthroughs, document process narratives, analyse internal controls, and test key control activities.
- Identify risks, control weaknesses, and improvement opportunities; provide clear, actionable recommendations to clients.
- Assist in preparing and presenting audit reports to directors, boards, and shareholders.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Participate in client meetings and calls, ensuring strong communication throughout the audit cycle.
- Build and maintain positive client relationships, becoming a trusted point of contact.
- Work closely with managers and partners, reporting audit issues and progress promptly.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, support, and mentor audit staff, helping to develop technical skills and professional growth.
- Review work prepared by junior team members and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to creating a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
Operational & Compliance
- Assist in managing audit budgets and timelines to ensure efficient engagement delivery.
- Apply strong technical knowledge of FRS 102, the Companies Act 2014, and relevant auditing standards.
- Support continuous improvement in audit processes and departmental best practices.
Education & Qualification Requirements
- Newly Qualified or Part-Qualified ACA, ACCA, or CPA.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in practice; audit experience is essential.
- Strong technical understanding of FRS 102 and Companies Act 2014.
- Experience preparing consolidated or group accounts is highly advantageous.
