Position: Business Intelligence (12 month Contract)

Location: Galway (Hybrid)

Role Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Developer, to join their team on a 1 year contracting opportunity. In this role, you will design and deliver dashboards and reports that empower our business partners.

Required Expertise:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a software application engineer/developer
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and build strong relationships with partners and stakeholders
  • Mastery of ANSI-standard SQL, including analytical and aggregate functions
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle 12c or later
  • Competence in reading and translating VBA macros into SQL
  • Experience building paginated reports using Oracle Analytics Publisher, BI Publisher, Crystal Reports, or Power BI Report Builder
  • Proficiency with analytical BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience using BI Publisher templates in Excel and Word

Nice to have's:

  • Knowledge of Snowflake
  • Background in performance tuning

  • Capacity to independently deliver solutions while collaborating with a multi-skilled engineering team
  • Sensitivity to client needs, with a knack for building rapport and engaging end users
  • Collaborative mindset, able to establish and maintain effective relationships both in person and virtually
  • Curiosity and drive to automate processes, enhance deliverables, and tackle challenges
  • Creative problem-solving skills to identify optimal solutions for real-world scenarios
  • Willingness to question assumptions and validate their accuracy
  • Enthusiasm for learning and thriving in a fast-paced setting that delights users
