CNC Field Service Engineer

📍 Limerick or Galway | Field-Based

An established and expanding precision engineering solutions provider is seeking a self-motivated CNC Field Service Engineer to join their growing service team in the West of Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working with cutting-edge CNC technology.

You will support customers across Limerick, Galway, and surrounding regions, delivering high-quality service, installation, and technical support on CNC machinery.

The Role

As a CNC Field Service Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Mechanical and electrical fault finding on CNC equipment
  • Repair and troubleshooting of CNC machine breakdowns
  • Installation and commissioning of new CNC machinery
  • Performing annual services and preventative maintenance
  • Liaising with suppliers and machine manufacturers to resolve technical issues
  • Providing on-site technical support to customers in a professional manner

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have experience with:

  • CNC and/or PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment
  • Mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis
  • Basic electronics and system troubleshooting
  • Reading and interpreting system schematics
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
  • A full, clean driving licence

Desirable (But Not Essential)

  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Basic understanding of CNC code and ladder logic
  • Level 5 qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a recognised apprenticeship
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or factory maintenance environment
