  • Experience with Origin Green or similar sustainability frameworks is advantageous but not essential.

Health & Safety

  • Maintain and continuously improve the site’s Health & Safety Management System.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and internal audits to ensure compliance with legislation and internal standards.
  • Deliver EHS training, including Manual Handling and safety awareness programes.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities and insurance representatives.

Compliance & External Audits

  • Coordinate and support external audits, including SMETA, HSA, customer, and regulatory audits.
  • Liaise with company insurers to ensure all documentation, incident reports, and risk-management records are accurately maintained.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with Irish and EU Environmental, Health & Safety legislation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Health & Safety, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in an EHS role, ideally within food manufacturing, manufacturing, or a regulated production environment.
  • Certified Manual Handling Trainer.
  • Strong working knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation and best-practice standards.
  • Experience participating in or coordinating external audits (e.g. SMETA, HSA) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Origin Green is an advantage but not required.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive behavioural change on the production floor.
  • Passion for developing a positive safety and sustainability culture.
