Health and Safety Manager – Limerick

A leading manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join its team in Limerick on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a key leadership role responsible for driving a strong safety culture across a complex industrial site. The position reports directly to the Plant Manager and will play a central role in ensuring full compliance with all health, safety, and welfare standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and promote safety awareness, engagement, and continuous improvement across the site.
• Monitor compliance through regular safety audits and inspections.
• Advise management on actions to minimise occupational risks.
• Maintain and report on safety KPIs and performance metrics.
• Develop and implement accident reduction and prevention programs.
• Create and deliver annual safety initiatives and training programs.
• Investigate incidents and oversee corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with company life-saving rules and external regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with external agencies (e.g. HSA) and internal stakeholders on all safety matters.
• Manage site inductions for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Coordinate statutory inspections and maintain relevant documentation.

What You’ll Bring:

• Degree in a relevant discipline plus a recognised Health & Safety qualification or diploma.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar H&S management role within manufacturing, quarrying, or heavy industry.
• Strong understanding of industrial processes and safety systems.
• Proven experience with ISO 45001 implementation and auditing.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
• Confident IT user with strong reporting and presentation skills.
