Health and Safety Manager – Limerick
A leading manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join its team in Limerick on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a key leadership role responsible for driving a strong safety culture across a complex industrial site. The position reports directly to the Plant Manager and will play a central role in ensuring full compliance with all health, safety, and welfare standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and promote safety awareness, engagement, and continuous improvement across the site.
- Monitor compliance through regular safety audits and inspections.
- Advise management on actions to minimise occupational risks.
- Maintain and report on safety KPIs and performance metrics.
- Develop and implement accident reduction and prevention programs.
- Create and deliver annual safety initiatives and training programs.
- Investigate incidents and oversee corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with company life-saving rules and external regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with external agencies (e.g. HSA) and internal stakeholders on all safety matters.
- Manage site inductions for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Coordinate statutory inspections and maintain relevant documentation.
What You’ll Bring:
- Degree in a relevant discipline plus a recognised Health & Safety qualification or diploma.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar H&S management role within manufacturing, quarrying, or heavy industry.
- Strong understanding of industrial processes and safety systems.
- Proven experience with ISO 45001 implementation and auditing.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Confident IT user with strong reporting and presentation skills.
