IT Technician – Manufacturing Site

Summary

An experienced IT Technician is sought to provide comprehensive technical support for a manufacturing site in Sligo and additional European locations. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth operation of all local and remote IT systems, hardware, software, and infrastructure. This role requires a hands-on, customer-focused professional who can translate technical issues into clear, practical solutions for non-technical users while collaborating closely with the wider IT team.

Responsibilities

·      Provide on-site and remote IT support for manufacturing and administrative systems, hardware, software, and mobile devices.

·      Work with the Service Desk to build, configure, and deploy new PCs, install software, and perform user setups.

·      Support and maintain all AV and conference room systems.

·      Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving Windows configuration, networking, printing, and standard desktop tools.

·      Manage local ITSM tickets, ensuring timely updates, escalation, and SLA compliance.

·      Deliver white-glove support to senior management and high-profile users.

·      Assist with local infrastructure operations including servers, routers, WAN circuits, and switches.

·      Manage IT assets and ensure compliant disposal of obsolete equipment.

·      Lead or contribute to local IT projects and process improvements.

·      Provide proactive customer service and maintain communication until full resolution.

Requirements

·      Undergraduate degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

·      Minimum 3 years’ experience in desktop and helpdesk support, including networks and virtual environments.

·      Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 suite, Windows 10/11, Active Directory, EndPoint Manager, and antivirus tools.

·      Strong technical skills in PC builds, deployments, and mobile device configuration.

·      Working knowledge of LAN/WAN/VPN infrastructure.

·      Experience with IT ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.

·      Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to support non-technical users.

·      Strong multitasking and organisational skills; capable of working independently and on-call when required.
