On behalf of our Manufacturing Client in Shannon, Co Clare, we are currently sourcing a Production Manager to join their Team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide effective supervision and coaching to assigned employees to achieve the required quality and production goals.
- Manage the movement of product through the production area ensuring TOC inventory and throughput targets are achieved daily.
- Ensure on time delivery to customer order due date and manage customer expedites through the process.
- Develop and execute daily recovery plans for any missed production metrics.
- Supervision and management duties of shift employees to include scheduling of leave, disciplinaries, grievances, etc.
- Trouble shoot and provide cost effective resolutions to production problems.
- Process and approve all weekly payroll hours worked by employees in remit.
- Develop and promote a Continuous Improvement work environment.
- Implement and sustain a 6S culture.
- Implement and support lean manufacturing techniques (VSM’ing, Kaizan, TPM, employee suggestions, etc.).
- Monitor the operations safety program and ensure that all employees comply with safety regulations.
- Manage the group training matrix and complete training plans to deliver increased flexibility and increased productivity from the group.
- Conduct shift start-up meeting to communicate plant and departmental updates/news.
- Provide the shift-to-shift communication link to keep all team members working toward the same goals.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere.
Deliverables
Increase output from the production cell by a minimum of 2% quarter over quarter.
- Increase productivity in the cell by a minimum of 2% quarter over quarter.
- Deliver 2% cost reduction improvements for the cell quarter over quarter.
- Meet the daily sales and ESH’s targets for the production area.
- Drive past due orders on a weekly basis to target set.
- Manage overtime and absences to targets set.
- Meet the daily TOC throughput and inventory targets.
- Meet and exceed the quarterly scrap, rework and returns targets.
- Ensure internal system accuracy for the area.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
§ Minimum bachelor’s degree in Production Management, Engineering, or related disciplines (equivalent background considered).
- At least 3 years of industrial supervisory or similar leadership experience.
- Able to multiple task with competing priorities.
- Establishes and achieves continuous improvement goals.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience of supervising in a unionized environment desirable
