Position Overview

The Project Management Lead will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of energy management and sustainability projects for industrial clients. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management and project execution skills to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with clients, engineers, consultants, contractors and suppliers to implement energy-saving initiatives and support clients in achieving their sustainability objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of energy management and sustainability projects.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, contractors and suppliers to define project scope, objectives, timelines and resource requirements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules and delivery milestones.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with agreed scope, budget and timelines.

Energy & Sustainability Solutions

  • Collaborate with clients to understand operational challenges, energy requirements and sustainability goals.
  • Oversee the implementation of energy optimisation and decarbonisation initiatives.
  • Ensure project delivery aligns with relevant industry standards, regulations and best practices.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Manage project budgets and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project performance against budget, schedule and deliverables.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate project risks.
  • Support efficient utilisation of internal and external resources.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Provide regular project updates, reports and presentations.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Facilitate effective communication across all project teams.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and support cross-functional teams.
  • Define clear roles, responsibilities and project objectives.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor project outcomes and energy performance metrics.
  • Prepare reports highlighting energy savings, efficiency improvements and sustainability achievements.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and process optimisation.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with relevant environmental, energy efficiency and quality standards.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews throughout project delivery.
  • Stay informed on industry developments, emerging technologies and regulatory changes.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong project management capability across planning, execution, monitoring and project close-out.
  • Experience with recognised project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum or PMP frameworks.
  • Knowledge of energy management, sustainability and industrial operational environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication and team management capabilities.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules and resources.
  • Proven stakeholder and client relationship management experience.
  • Strong risk management and mitigation skills.
  • Familiarity with energy management software, analytics platforms and engineering-led project environments.
  • Understanding of industry standards and certification frameworks.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Energy Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in project management within industrial, engineering, sustainability or energy-related environments.
  • Professional project management certification (PMP or equivalent) advantageous.
  • Additional sustainability or energy-related certifications desirable.
