Senior Chemical Engineer – Limerick

Location: Limerick (onsite)

Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–4:30pm, Friday 8:00am–3:30pm

Salary: €65,000 + benefits

Type: Permanent, full-time

Reports to: Production Manager

The Opportunity

As a Senior Chemical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving production performance. You’ll monitor process chemistry, support plant operations, and drive improvements in product consistency and process efficiency.

This position suits someone ambitious, technically strong, and eager to develop toward Production Management.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams.
• Monitor chemical and process parameters to maintain a consistent, stable product.
• Analyse process performance, including heat transfer, mass balances, and design efficiency.
• Support kiln performance, quality control, and troubleshooting.
• Lead or assist with process improvement and commissioning projects.
• Manage contractors on specific site jobs or during shutdowns.
• Contribute to health, safety, and environmental standards across operations.

What You’ll Need

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
• 3–4+ years’ relevant industrial experience (cement, minerals, process, or heavy manufacturing ideal)
• Strong technical and analytical skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Proven problem-solving and project management skills
• Ambition to progress into a leadership role
