UK & Ireland Senior Payroll Specialist (12-Month Contract) - Galway - Hybrid

My client, a Galway based technology company, is currently seeking a UK&I Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic HR & Legal team on a 12-month contract. As part of our ongoing development and expansion, this role will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our UK&I entities. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with the existing finance team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a multi-cultural environment, where enthusiasm and adaptability are highly valued.

Role Overview:

  • Position: UK&I Payroll Specialist (12-Month Contract)
  • Reporting To: Finance Director

Responsibilities:

  • Process end-to-end payroll for UK&I employees, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with HR and other departments to maintain accurate employee data and resolve any payroll-related queries.
  • Handle payroll adjustments, including bonuses, commissions, and other compensation elements.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports, tax filings, and statutory payments.
  • Assist in implementing process improvements and automation within the payroll function.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll legislation and ensure adherence to legal requirements.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees regarding payroll inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably within an international context.
  • IPASS qualifications an advantage but not essential
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of UK&I payroll regulations and tax laws.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English.
