Senior Quality Engineer

Location: Kilrush, Co. Clare

A progressive, technology-driven manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to support and strengthen quality systems within a growing operation.

This is a hands-on senior role with strong cross-functional exposure. You’ll work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain, acting as a technical quality lead and driving improvements that directly impact product quality and operational performance.

This is not a document-control or audit-only role.

It’s a position with real influence on the floor and clear scope to progress.

The Role

  • Own and develop the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 (or similar manufacturing standards).
  • Support customer and internal audits, CAPA, change control, and validation activities.
  • Provide technical quality input to NPI, process changes, and design reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, RCA, and CAPA.
  • Lead risk management activities including pFMEA, APQP, and process controls.
  • Support quality across manufacturing, supplier quality, and product development.
  • Mentor junior quality team members and influence cross-functional stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

  • 5–9 years’ experience in Quality Engineering within manufacturing or chemical environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of QMS, audits, CAPA, and change control.
  • Solid experience with ISO 9001; IATF 16949 is a strong advantage.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and drive practical improvements.
  • Engineering, science, or related third-level qualification.
  • Clear communicator with a data-driven, problem-solving mindset.

What’s on Offer

  • Senior technical role with real ownership and visibility.
  • Clear progression path to Lead or Principal Quality Engineer within 12–24 months, based on performance.
  • Exposure to customer-facing audits and broader quality initiatives.
  • Ongoing professional development and standards training.
  • Hybrid working available once established.
  • Opportunity to live and work in the West of Ireland, with a lower cost of living and excellent outdoor lifestyle.

Why Apply

This is a strong opportunity for an ambitious quality professional who wants to move beyond maintenance of systems and into a role where they can influence, improve, and grow with the business.
