Van Sales Representative - Connaught Territory
Our client, a well-established Irish food manufacturing company, is seeking a Van Sales Representative to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to represent a leading producer of high-quality food products, supplying customers in the butchery, artisan producer, and specialist food retail sectors.
This position will cover the Connaught and Mid-West regions, with the base of operations in Westmeath. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales, managing existing customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business Development: Grow sales with existing customers and proactively identify new business opportunities across the Connaught and Mid-West regions.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships to maximise customer satisfaction and sales potential.
- Territory Planning: Manage route and call planning efficiently to achieve consistent sales growth and meet performance targets.
- Product Knowledge: Develop a thorough understanding of the company’s product range to provide tailored solutions and recommendations to customers.
- Market Awareness: Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Reporting: Provide timely sales updates and feedback to management on performance, opportunities, and customer insights.
- Administration: Handle order processing, cash collection, and other sales-related documentation accurately.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ sales experience, ideally within the food industry (butchery, artisan food, or specialist retail sectors preferred).
- Sales Mindset: Target-driven, commercially focused, and motivated by achieving results.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and influencing abilities, capable of engaging effectively with business owners and managers.
- Technical Skills: Competent in using IT systems (e.g., MS Office, Excel) for reporting and order management.
- Driving Licence: Must hold a valid full driving licence
- Personal Attributes: Energetic, self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently while being part of a supportive team.
