ESB’s (Publishing Unit) is seeking to hire a Publishing Unit Team Member to carry out print and documentation archival services.

The Publishing Unit is ESB’s internal print unit, serving all ESB business groups across the whole of the organisation since 1989.

We are excited to advertise for a new member for our small dynamic Publishing team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting all departments across ESB in the delivery of internal printing, scanning requests and administering EMPs (ESB Business Line) documentation archiving service. The successful applicant will be actively involved in the day-to-day operational activities of the unit, ensuring a consistently high level of service in terms of print and print finishing requirements, plus liaising with our archive storage partner to provide a high-level work output while delivering to tight deadlines and providing a quality customer experience.

Potential candidates are required to have a good knowledge of the print and print finishing processes, training for archiving services will be provided.

In support of ESB’s strategic objectives of decarbonising electricity, building resilient infrastructure and empowering clients, the successful candidate will be required to adhere to ESB’s Net Zero by 2040 goal, putting sustainability first.

Key Responsibilities 

Team CollaborationWork as part of the Publishing Unit team, supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality services across ESB.

Printing & Scanning Services
Provide small and large format printing and scanning for all departments, including reports, bids, brochures, posters, site planning and commissioning packs, design schematics, and construction documentation.

Quality Assurance
Ensure all finished products meet client specifications and quality standards.

Equipment Management
Maintain operational efficiency of print and finishing equipment by coordinating with third-party maintenance providers.

Archive Administration
Manage EMP’s documentation archive service (circa 12K units) with our storage partner, including creating new units, updating records, and conducting annual reviews.

Client Support for Archives
Assist EMP staff with archive unit returns, recalls, and searches in the archives database; liaise with clients and storage provider as required.

Training & Development
Engage in training on archives administration and related processes to ensure effective service delivery.

Experience and Qualifications 

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in a digital print room environment.
  • Working knowledge of Fiery Command Workstation print management software (training can be given if required)
  • Excellent knowledge of small format printers and large format plotters
  • Excellent working knowledge of print room guillotine
  • Good knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Ability to be part of a team to deliver a high level of performance, and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • The ability to effectively engage with key stakeholders

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of Publisher Select print management software desirable
  • Working knowledge of BM500 booklet finisher desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Sharepoint etc
  • Knowledge of Adobe In-design desirable

Qualifications

Essential

  • Printing qualification or equivalent work experience in a digital print environment working on digital printers and print finishing equipment

Location 

This position is based in One Dublin Airport Central, Dublin Airport, Co. Dublin, K67 XF72 and moving to ESB Head office, Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2 in 2026

Salary

€32,500 - €38,800
