Lead Finance Business Partner - Product & Engineering

Engage People is delighted to partner with an international software company headquartered in Ireland, as they hire a Lead Finance Business Partner to support their rapidly growing product and engineering teams

As Finance Business Partner, you'll act as a strategic partner to the Head of Product and Head of Engineering, helping to shape product strategy, guide roadmap investments, and ensure resources are allocated for maximum impact.

You'll take a hands-on role in evaluating ROI across both short- and mid-term initiatives, modelling how product roadmap changes influence revenue, and identifying cost-efficiency levers.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role where your insights will directly inform product prioritisation, innovation planning, and long-term commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Partner directly with Product and Engineering leadership to align roadmap and resourcing decisions with business goals.
• Develop long-range product-led growth plans with clear ROI metrics and investment frameworks.
• Benchmark product and dev spend
• Analyse cloud infrastructure, contractor usage, and third-party tooling to support efficiency strategies.
• Model the revenue impact of roadmap changes and build commercial plans grounded in technical realities.
• Support cost negotiations with external vendors (e.g. Microsoft, AWS) alongside engineering teams.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, Product Operations, or Strategy in a tech or SaaS company.
• Strong experience partnering closely with product or R&D functions
• Skilled in financial modelling, data analysis, and ROI frameworks and comfortable with Excel, SQL, and BI tools.
• Strategic thinker
• Experience in smaller, fast-paced tech companies preferred
• Consulting background (e.g. strategy, transformation, tech)
• Familiarity with Agile product development and metrics
